In memory of Iain MacGregor

Thank you soooo much for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Cancer, the dreaded "C" word. It has become such an epidemic in our society that people are loath to even mention its name. Cancer is a disease that can affect many different parts of the body. Some of these diseases are more serious than others. It is not only the disease that is painful but also the many ways of treating it. Radiation treatments may kill the cancer but are also dangerous for the body. Chemotherapy comes with many side affects such as hair loss and severe nausea. The many faces of this disease challenge an individual to show their fighting spirit and will to live.
The world lost a true gentleman this year, Iain MacGregor (Meg) aged 35 years old. Iain was a kind and very funny guy, He touched the hearts of everyone who was lucky enough to have known him.
I'd look forward to Iain's daily Facebook status which was usually about football, Jeremy Kyle or Don't tell the bride :) He never seemed down in the dumps and he was grateful for everything he had and for the life he'd lived so far. He had a positive outlook on life and remained positive all through his treatment until he very sadly lost his battle to Cancer on the 10th March 2012. He was an inspiration to me and many others.
Sadly Iain left behind his son Lewis aged 7 who is a fantastic wee boy and is an absolute credit to Iain. Lewis and his friends wanted to help to raise money for ACCORD hospice also so they organised a sponsored bounce which took place on 30th June 2012. Lewis and his friends raised £512 for this great cause :)
Linda (Iains Mum), Craig (Iains Brother) and Jill (Iains sister in law) all took part in Braeheads Midnight walk on 22nd June 2012. The weather was awful but they soldiered on and completed the 8K walk raising over £200 for this great charity :)
Iain and I talked about organising a charity event together last year but unfortunately Iain didn't feel fit enough at the time then we never got the chance so I will be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Feb next year in Iain's memory and i will be walking the West Highland Way as well as climbing many of the munro's (mountains over 3,000 ft) as training to prepare myself for climbing the highest (20,000 ft) mountain in Africa. I will be organising many fundraising events also eg X Factor night and a halloween party and Jamie Ward and his dad Jim Ward will be organising a race night so I'm hoping between all these events, together we can make a difference to the world and make Iain proud.
Please don't let Cancer continue to take our friends and family. Every penny helps so please can you spare as much as you can to this very worthwhile cause?
Thank you to everyone.
