Story
Hi - I’m Meg!
I’m a first year medical student at Swansea University and am helping to raise awareness and vital funds for the Meningitis Research Foundation (MRF). The vision of the Foundation is a world free from Meningitis and Septicaemia, and essential funds raised will enable research and awareness to defeat this deadly disease. As a student, this foundation is close to my heart - first year university students are the second most ‘at risk’ group after babies and toddlers - and the news of another student being struck with meningitis fills us with fear.
Next summer, I am taking on a huge personal challenge trekking through the Himalayas to Mount Everest and hope to raise £4,000 towards the Foundation. An accident a few years ago ruptured my ACL and tore my MCL. I still suffer discomfort and am awaiting surgery, but I won’t let this hold me back! I would really appreciate any and every penny you are able to donate and thank you for your support!
