Story
As many of you know, the last 3 years have not been the best for James, or I, but mostly James. It took a while but was finally diagnosed with gastroparesis which has caused multiple hospital visits and stays, numerous GP appointments, millions of tablets and just feeling awful. The worst stay lasted three weeks after him losing three stone and ended up being tube fed a couple of weeks before our wedding. He is currently being admitted around every three months and this will not improve without surgical intervention. Funding has been applied for but it doesn't mean he will be the one to receive it. He has been looked after so well by Broomfield hospital that it's time to give back.
The hospital are raising money for a surgical robot. There are so many benefits for this in comparison to physical human intervention. One of the surgeries that can be performed with the Robot is gastric pacing which is what James would need. The Trust are at the forefront of research into gastric pacing and gastroparesis and this robot would enable them to continue to help others and develop further advances in the field including training students to use this technology.
It's a great cause that I would like to help because they could help so many others.
