I’m taking part in the 5K Run the Runway event at Inverness Airport - raising money for Maggie’s Highland and now rescheduled for August 2021. 

I have a couple of close friends who have used Maggie’s service in the last few years and the support from the centre has been a huge help to them during such a difficult time.

When I signed up, the event was a big challenge for me, as at one point I couldn’t stand up or walk across my kitchen without being in agony, and the idea of walking 5K seemed impossible.  I was previously a very keen hill walker and am just so grateful that I can enter!  I trained for the original 2020 event and did walk the full distance on the day, so for the real event I am hoping to go as quickly as I can!
