The number of people diagnosed with cancer is growing, we're doing whatever it takes to help more people with cancer get the best care the UK has to offer, whoever and wherever they are. To donate, volunteer, raise money or campaign with us, call 0300 1000 200 or visit macmillan.org.uk

Story

On Sunday 2nd October 2022 I will run my first (and quite possibly my last) marathon!

I chose to run for Macmillan because, like many,  I’ve experienced loved ones suffering cancer. My Grandad, Peter, was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2020 and is currently undergoing treatment. Peter has always been an inspiration; keeping the family smiling with his awful washing-up jokes, stories from the war and hotel business, and how fast he can solve a countdown puzzle.

Even now, fighting cancer, Peter hasn't lost his ability to make us all smile. I can't wait for him to cheer me on alongside my family and friends in October (probably with a washing-up brush in hand).

Macmillan Cancer Support work tirelessly to ensure no one faces cancer alone. They provide specialist health care, information and financial support to people affected by cancer.

Any donation big or small will be greatly appreciated - it will also guilt trip me into training!

Thanks in advance for your support!
