Cancer affects everyone somehow, someday. It is life altering and whether you receive the diagnosis, or you are supporting someone through it, it is not easy. I see it everyday in the work I do with patients going through this journey. I see the hardship, the struggles, the pain, the loss and grief. I also see the perseverance, the support, the kindness, the love and the hope. For so many with cancer, the things they love doing and what gives them meaning, is taken away or put on pause, and even simple things like walking can become a struggle. I never want to take this for granted and whilst running 42km seems like an impossible endeavour...it is nothing compared to the battles my patients face everyday in this journey.
