Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am proposing to row, using Concept 2 Indoor Rowing machine, 1.5 million metres between May 2020 and April 2021, which is about half a million metres more than I have ever done. I will be aiming to row the equivalent distance of three marathons every month for a year. I reckon I will need your support on this!

A recent family experience identified the good and essential work conducted by Admiral Nurses. They operate through the Charity Dementia UK and provide much needed care to patients of Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease and advice and support to their family
and carers. There are not so many Admiral Nurses as other specialist nurses but the occurrence and impact of Dementia and Alzheimer’s is sadly increasing at an alarming level. The Charity has received a 44% increase in requests for assistance in the last year. The work and support of Admiral Nurses is never so much needed as now and it is expected to increase in the future. I hope to assist their cause by raising both the profile of this great service as well as some funding for them, which is used practically to make a real difference at the point of contact. As a result, I am raising money for Dementia UK who provide these vital nursing services up and down the Country.
