Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Alzheimer’s is a cruel disease that rips families apart, this has been made so much worse this year due to Lockdown.

I will be completing the London Summer Marathon Walk in June 2021. Research conducted shows that, there are currently around 850,000 people with dementia in the UK. This is projected to rise to 1.6 million by 2040. 209,600 will develop dementia this year, that’s one every three minutes.

Dementia research is desperately underfunded. For every person living with dementia, the annual cost to the UK economy is over £30,000 and yet only £90 is spent on dementia research each year. Let's raise awareness!

I have learnt first-hand how this disease can impact a family! I am walking for those affected, the families caring for loved ones and to the qualified caregivers. I greatly appreciate all your help!

'Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever. Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.'
