Diabetes UK is the charity leading the fight against the UK's devastating and fastest growing health crisis, working to create a world where diabetes can do no harm. It’s a fight that involves all of us – sharing knowledge and taking diabetes on together. Join us.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

So here we are again!

For the three year in a row I am swimming 22 miles the length of the English Channel but it’s in the safely of a pool.

So I’m sure many of you know why I’m swimming. In 2012 my world crashed when my little sister was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. She was so ill it’s scary the think back now. She was put on insulin and injects about 5 times day. But in true Emma style she takes it in her stride and she just gets on with it. She even off to pump school before getting her insulin pump fitted later this year (fingers crossed)!

I wish for a cure twice over if I’m honest as my Dad has been diabetic since 1991, so a double cure would be the best thing for us.

My swim is to raise money for Diabetes UK to research into why people get diabetes and to hopefully one day find a cure. Please help me raise money for this wonder cause which is very close to my heart.

Thank you xx
