I have now returned from my trip but am still fundraising, the things I have seen and done have had such an effect on me...

A little about me and what I am doing:

I am a 24 year old woman living in the UK and about 6 weeks ago I was given the opportunity to do something amazing, I received an email through my work about volunteers being needed for a project in South Africa and when I read the email I knew I had to go, I made it through the selection process and am now at the start of my journey and a part as important as the time in Africa itself, the fundraising.

I will be spending from the 8th to the 16th of July in South Africa, building houses with Habitat for Humanity in support of the KwaXimba Aids Orphans Project. We will be working hand in hand with local people to help them build simple, decent homes.

All the costs of my direct expenses are covered (travel, accommodation, food, insurance etc) I have agreed to raise a minimum of £1000 in sponsorship for Habitat For Humanity, in turn habitat will send at least 80% of my sponsorship money to the host country.

Habitat for Humanity is an international housing charity, it's mission is to eliminate substandard housing worldwide, it was founded in 1976 and now works in 90 countries. They have done so much good, but there is always so much more to do and I desperately want to be a part of it.

If you help me you will be helping turn the lives of people around, people who had nothing will have something, a solid base on which to build a future. You may know me or you may not know me, you may have reached this page via a website I belong to, a friends web blog, or you may have just stumbled upon it - however you reached it please, before you go make a donation, it does not matter how small, everything helps me achieve this. if I can reach 1000 people and each of those 1000 people donates just £1 then I will reach my goal, your money will combine with my labour and sweat to help people build a better future,
