My Marathon story ...

So, with curiosity and determination to rise to my own personal challenge, I added a marathon to my bucket list!!

The story really began when I had to drop out of my first marathon I signed up for a year earlier - due to a knee injury after being offered a 'golden ticket' ballot place and knew that this was my opportunity!  (My first time of trying I hasten to add)! 

I work for the Ambulance Service and it's certainly been a challenge fitting in training with shift working! Cornwall Air Ambulance does not receive government funding for its missions so each and every rescue is funded by donations ... due to my line of work I regularly see them at work and am continually amazed at the work they do and their professionalism and for this reason I would like to raise a few pounds. No set target.

I guess I could say that I am running this in memory of my nan .... Someone who always smiled with me and would introduce me and say 'this is my grand daughter and she is doing ... (What ever I happened to be doing at the time, blah blah blah etc) and would then always say 'Melanie whatever are you gonna do next' ... 'Well Nan, here I am doing something which I think is pretty crazy'  ... I hope I can do her proud xxx
