So despite my better judgement and promising I would never do it again… I have decided to run the GNR this year. Anyone that knows me knows I am not a runner, in any sense of the word, so the only thing getting me through is the thought of raising plenty money for an amazing cause!

I have been lucky enough recently to join the team at Engage in the Community and get involved in the work that they do: 

Engage in the community all started at the beginning of the Covid-19 Pandemic, initially to help support our community in these troubling and difficult times.  We soon found a vast amount of people needed our help. The aim was, and still is, to help distribute small food parcels to those in need of assistance due to isolation and vulnerability. The ENGAGE in the community project has quickly grown with assistance being given to over 1000 families in Northumberland. This support is aimed at assisting in the short term, whilst we signpost people to the relevant long term supporting projects.

We are currently renovating our building with the support of the ASDA foundation and our goals remain to assist the community with our food parcels, along with running educational courses and classes. From coffee mornings to community fund raisers to mental health support groups, our aims will always be to support our community in any way we can. 

Your donations will go a long way in supporting with the food parcels, and the current renovation project , to allow us to provide important mental health support and a range of other educational and community support services to those that really need it.
