Handmade blanket raffle · 1 October 2019

The Army Widows' Association was formed by a group of Army widows in 2004.It aims to offer support and friendship to those who have sadly lost their husband/wife or recognised partner at any stage of their bereavement through mutual empathy, experiences and by signposting new members to other sources of help at such a difficult time in their lives. The AWA offers its support to all widows bereaved since 1981, death can have been as a result of many reasons: illness, RTA, conflict, suicide, training accidents. We hold an annual weekend and other events where widows can meet up, meet others who are in the same situation as themselves, find out lots of information, raise issues and are developing a network of smaller Regional meetings to improve our support.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am going to raffle the above blanket to raise funds for The Army Widows Associastion.

£2.50 per entry, remember to leave your name with your donation in order for me to put your name into the draw.

I will make the draw on 1st October 2019

Some of you may know some of you may not. I am an army widow. My husband was killed in a motor cycle accident in June 2005, our children wer just 8 & 5, as you can imagine it was and is still very difficult. The AWA is the only place where I have met people just like me "who get it" no explanations needed, also that I lost my husband, the children their father, but our family lost the way of life that we were used to.

I have made life long friends within the AWA, friends who stay in touch, friends that don't, but if you need support they step up instantly, that is what being part of the AWA family means.

So please make a donation to be entered into my raffle for a gorgeous handmade, popcorn stitch blanket.

Many Thanks
