I am fundraising for White Cloud Foundation as I am thrilled to be one of their Leaping Ladies for 2021. While I'm taking the challenge of abseiling down the Kangaroo Point cliffs on Thursday 11 March, many women face more difficult challenges everyday as they battle either post-natal depression or depression during their pregnancy. What White Cloud do is provide simple and practical help for these women by supplying them with nutritious, home-delivered meals. This can make a huge difference to them as they often struggle to care for their family and themselves during this time. Depression in all forms is a serious health issue and like most people, I have been confronted with it in my life. I want to help women battling perinatal depression and those suffering other forms of depression by raising funds for White Cloud's practical support programs. As you may know on April the 21st my husband and I lost our baby boy Ari, when I was 17 weeks pregnant. My uterus ruptured which almost killed me and unfortunately killed Ari. It has been an extremely painful road since then and I know I still have a long way to go to be ok my new reality. I have also suffered from post natal depression with my first two pregnancies, so I know first hand what it is like to be stuck in the "Big black Hole" and to feel like a black cloud is sitting over my head. It is for this reason I will be raising money and abseiling down the cliffs of kangaroo point.

I ask all of my family and friends to get behind me and help me make a difference, I am extremely afraid of heights but "I can do this". Most of the women I know who have had children have also suffered from post natal depression so I know this charity and what they do will touch your hearts as it has mine.
