Great North Run 2023
Campaign by Myeloma UK (RCN SC026116)
Our incredible Myeloma UK team will be running 13.1 miles to help make myeloma history.

Story

On 10th September 2023, I will be taking part in the AJ Bell Great North Run for Myeloma UK.

In 2018, my wonderful granddad passed away from Myeloma at the age of 69, with so much more life left to give. Myeloma is a type of bone marrow cancer affecting several areas of the body and, unfortunately, is terminal. This was a heartbreaking time for our family, and my only hope is that through raising money, I can help fund research into a cure for other patients and families experiencing what we did.

I'm running in support of Myeloma UK because they are the only organisation in the UK dealing exclusively with the disease, with their ultimate goal being to find a cure. In the UK, on average, 16 people are diagnosed with myeloma every single day, and our donations help Myeloma UK to make sure no one has to face it alone. They give patients and their families all the information, help and support they need, exactly when they need it.

Myeloma UK are dedicated to patients, ensuring they get access to the proper treatment at the right time and they continually strive to improve standards of treatment and care through research, education, and raising awareness.

Any donations are really appreciated, no matter how big or small, to support the amazing work this charity does.

Thank you so much!
