They say 1 in 2 of us will get cancer in our lifetime, while this may sound alarming, it is very much realistic. The services of Macmillan Cancer Support are needed now more than ever and by participating in the Mighty Hike, I'd like to show my appreciation of their services and give something back.

I lost my step dad two years ago to lung cancer and now my dad has been diagnosed with terminal lung and lymph-node cancer. Initially the diagnosis was Stage 3 and he underwent chemo and radio therapy for 6 weeks earlier in the year, but has had little to no effect. Macmillan have supported him throughout, either on the phone or in person at the hospital. Without them, his experience would have been completely different.
