Half Marathon · 7 March 2021

Memory Lane is a registered charity providing activities for people with dementia and their carers in a safe, creative, and stimulating environment. We currently run groups including singing, dancing, swimming, cinema visits, allotment activity and coffee mornings and organise 3 outings a year.

Story

Last July my colleague Michael coerced us into doing a charity run of 11km. Since then we have carried on training and are looking forward to completing the half marathon distance, most of us for the first time.

Ever since we decided to do a half marathon my goal has been to raise money in aid of dementia. Memory Lane is a local and proactive charity trying to connect people struggling with new people and their loved ones whilst also finding activities they can enjoy. Loneliness is a huge part of the condition and being able to connect with others is a great way to combat it.
