Story
Weve all learned something about loneliness over the last year or so. Most of us now understand how it feels to be isolated and not to speak to or see anyone for days on end. For people with a learning disability, loneliness has been a constant reality for most of their lives. Fifty percent of people with a learning disability experienced chronic loneliness before lockdown and the devastating impacts that come with it.
But Mencap has been there, working hard throughout lockdown to continue to help those people who have felt the impact the most. People like Alexander.
Our teams have been there when people with learning disabilities have been at their loneliest and most vulnerable. And we will continue to be there.
By supporting us this Christmas, you can make someones loneliness a thing of the past and give them the gift of hope for the future.
£25 could help pay for sensory lights and toys for children with a disability who are supported by Mencap.
