MEN Media’s Walk to Work Day takes place on Thursday 9th November and this year it's in aid of Mummy’s Star - the charity that supported our friend and colleague Amy Parkinson through an unimaginably tough time.

Mummy’s Star supports women and their families affected by cancer during pregnancy or shortly after a birth. Amy was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma when she was 24 weeks pregnant Mummy’s Star offered vital support during the challenging months that followed.

Amy said: "It's been an incredibly tough time but our little star Finley is thriving and now 7 months old. We couldn't be more thankful for his health and treasure every moment with him.

"Mummy's Star are an incredible charity driven by a small dedicated team and full of mums who I have found support and understanding from at the darkest times.

"On paper my situation has been pretty awful, but there are mums on that group who are some of the strongest and most inspirational women that I've ever come across. Any money raised makes a massive difference."

MEN Media's Managing Director Paul O'Halloran will be strolling 15 miles from his home in Bolton and the Creative Studio’s fab five, are marching 22+ miles over the Saddleworth Moors from the Huddersfield Examiner office to MEN HQ in Chadderton, Oldham!

Mummy's Star is the only charity in the UK and Ireland dedicated to supporting pregnancy through cancer and beyond. Your donation means that women diagnosed with any cancer during pregnancy or within a year of a birth are able to reach Mummy's Star and the specialised support they offer. 

They help families to meet others in a similar position, offer small grants to relieve some financial burden, give support to partners and the wider family, promote awareness and support research.
