I am currently the SPFHS representative serving on the Overlook Foundation Junior Board. As a baby born in the Frank and Mimi Walsh Maternity Center, I am proud that we, as a collective board, decided to give our grant to this center. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, it had hit me hard that mothers were giving birth without being able to spend necessary and quality time with their newborn, while simultaneously having to be isolated from family and friends. Not only is COVID-19 a concern, but the lack of privacy mothers face postpartum. With this money, the Frank and Mimi Walsh Maternity Center can improve health, privacy, and comfort conditions for both mothers and their newborns.
