We pioneer life-saving cancer research to help us beat cancer

Story

10 weeks before the Adventure Challenge Series - Cannock Chase Calling, Pete (our Finance Director) told Jon (our Operations Director) that it would be a good idea to do this challenge race.  They then both told Stuart (our Sales Director) it would be a good idea and despite his protests, the first team was born.

We threw it open to the rest of the staff and have another team of Iain (Sales Manager), Dave (Assembly Supervisor) and John (Tech Sales Manager) on board.  Unfortunately, Dave has had to withdraw due to injury but James (Manufacturing Engineer) has stepped into the role.

The Adventure Challenge at Cannock Chase will be a 10km off-road run, 25km bike ride and a 1km paddle in a kayak.

For some of us (who already have some level of fitness), it will be an out and out race to the finish.  For others (who have over-endulged for some years) it will be a challenge to finish.  But for all of us, it will be a worthwhile event if we can raise some funds for such a worthwhile charity.

Many within our company (and all over the world) have either directly or indirectly been affected by Cancer so we really do appreciate any donation that is made.

So here starts the training for our challenge.  Rowing machines have been bought, lycra shorts and joggers nipple reasearched and a justgiving page setup.

In the words of our mentor, Pete...'It'll be alright...'
