Since 2011, GLOW NI have been working tirelessly to deliver mental health and personal development programmes for women and girls in Northern Ireland.
The Northern Ireland 2020 Youth and Wellbeing prevalence survey showed that out of all of the groups studied, teenage girls had the highest rates of suicidal thoughts and attempts. Teenage girls also had higher rates of social anxiety and are more likely to be a risk of developing easting disorders.
These findings are not surprising as independent research carried out by GLOW shows that every woman and girl that has registered their interest for a programme has suffered from at least two or more personal and social issues including depression, anxiety, low self esteem, isolation, bullying, sexual abuse/trauma, domestic violence, poverty/low income and disability.
Our vital cross community programmes are tailored for women aged 18+ and girls and young women aged 10 - 17.
