Last year my Mum, wee Betty, 83 was diagnosed with multiple myeloma (a type of bone marrow cancer which is treatable but not curable).

She started her treatment in February this year and has already had a 9 day stay in hospital and a lot of treatment at home. The support from her Macmillan nurse and team has been fantastic and we will continue to need their support.

Over recent years we've all lost good friends and family to cancer and there are many living with cancer too.

So in June, along with my sister Pamela and a few great lady friends, we've created the Wander Women team and have challenged ourselves to take on the Yorkshire Dales Mighty Hike to help raise money for people living with cancer.

There are currently 3 million people living with cancer in the UK today. It's Macmillan's goal to be there for everyone from the moment of diagnosis, but they can't do this without donations from people like you.
