Sheridan Maine Accountancy & Finance Recruitment London’s office are about to embark on an important challenge – The 6 Bridge Half Marathon Challenge!
Friday 07th October - 13 miles cross 6 of London’s iconic bridges in aid of SNAP.
SNAP – Special Needs And Parents – is an Essex charity for families with children and young people who have any special need or disability. SNAP's aims are to inform, encourage and support parents and carers so that they can grow in strength and knowledge and become better equipped to give the best possible help to their children.
All the Sheridan Maniacs based in our London office will be taking part – not only to support Mia's little brother but also to bring awareness to a small charity doing big things! Our staff will also have 6 tasks to complete on each bridge before they are able to move into the next one!
A little bit about Mia's cause:
''11 years ago, my brother Jack was diagnosed with Autism at the age of 2. He showed minimal speech development at this stage, was disconnected from others and was unfazed by human interaction. When Jack was diagnosed, as a family we struggled to deal with the unknown of how this would affect Jack’s life. There was minimal coverage on Autism awareness at this time and we were unsure on the severity of his needs.
SNAP has been a saviour to not only Jack but to my family. They have offered us the upmost support and guidance for Jacks growth and progression. His sensory and social skills have developed significantly thanks to the services SNAP offer. They have helped us learn how to deal with the struggles and taught us coping mechanisms to each individual family.''
