Story
On the 21st of April 2024, I am running the London Marathon in memory of my friend Louie Palmieri who sadly passed away on the 6/03/23 from an undiagnosed brain tumour.
In the UK 15 people a day die from a brain tumour. Louie was unfortunately one of those people. Louie however, is not a statistic he was a loving and caring son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and a friend to many.
Louie was in his first year of university living his best life with a bright and exciting future ahead of him. Louie was cheeky, full of life with a gentle soul. He was nicknamed the dad of our group, he was our go to person, the rock of the group. He as one of a kind, genuine, all round great person, one of life's good guys. Louie's passing has left a massive hole in so many peoples lives.
Louie was a fit, sporty 18 year old who became suddenly unwell 3 days before he passed away. Louie was rushed to hospital from his university flat, following a sudden fit, where he was diagnosed with a brain tumour. It was completely unexpected and the only symptom he had was headaches prior to this.
I have chosen to run for Brain Research UK to help raise awareness and research into brain tumours to hopefully help prevent this from happening to other people.
Those that know me well know my hate for running, so this will be a real challenge for me. Louie would laugh at the thought of me running 26.2 miles especially for him.
Please dig deep and help support the research into brain tumours. Any donations will be much appreciated.
