This year I have the once in a lifetime opportunity to compete in Miss Newcastle 2019 and I am so honoured to have the chance to be apart of such an event! Although events such as this often have the stigma of being all about image and beauty, Miss Newcastle strives to remove this, with a massive focus on raising money for local charities in need. Being the youngest in the competition, I know this journey will build my confidence, open opportunities for universities (boosting my personal statement and CV), give me unforgettable memories and the chance to raise money for an amazing cause, something I want to continue in the future. Due to this I want to give this experience my all and would greatly appreciate any contributions (no matter how small!!) to go towards the Sunshine Fund. The Chronicle Sunshine Fund is a North East charity enhancing the lives of local children with disabilities by funding life changing equipment to meet their specialist needs. They support babies, children and young adults up until their 19th birthday by providing them with equipment not available through the NHS or Social Services. They fund equipment such as specialist beds, trikes, wheelchairs and sensory equipment. The charity is not funded and relies on the generosity of local organisations, communities and individuals to raise £450,000 annually. So please help me reach my target!!
