The Mental Health Foundation believe no-one living in the UK should be deprived of the opportunity for good mental health because of who they are, the community they come from or where they live. We’re developing better ways to support good mental health in every community.

Story

Hello! I'm Mia, and I'm running Edinburgh 10K 2023 in support of the Mental Health Foundation.

Over the past few years I've had a pretty rough time with my mental health, and a lot of the time it left me feeling very alone and embarrassed. Charities like the Mental Health Foundation are vital in removing stigma, and reminding everyone - no matter what they're going through - that they really aren't alone, and you're stronger than you think.

Therefore, I'm doing this challenge to celebrate just that.

I can safely say I am, at the moment, a pretty shocking runner. But that's all part of the fun. I want to do this challenge to remind you, and myself, that we really are stronger than we think. We can become whatever or whoever we want, no matter what we've been through.

Finally - I just want to say, if any of you reading this are struggling, don't hesitate to reach out, no matter how big or small. Even if it's scary, it's worth it. I'm always here to listen.
