Mencap wants a world where people with a learning disability gain an equal right to choice opportunity and respect. We believe that support for the families and carers of people with a learning disability is vital to achieving our vision

Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

For those of you that don’t know me, I am Mike. I am a Director for South Wales Social Care provider, M&D Care. I have worked with Learning Disability and Mental Health for 13 years, starting my journey as a care assistant. I am thrilled and humbled to have been selected to run the London Marathon 2023 for Mencap.

I aim to raise at least £2500 for the Mencap charity. This is a huge task without the support and good gesture of my connections. There are 1.5 million people living in the UK with learning disabilities.

£10 funds two calls to our helpline from people who urgently need advice.

£15 can pay for the equipment for a family to read sensory stories with their child to help them communicate.

£40 could provide an early years support worker for one afternoon.
