Home-Start Leeds is a voluntary home visiting family support service that supports parents who have at least one child under the age of 7 years and/or expecting a baby. At Home-Start Leeds we support some of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged families struggling with complex and often multiple needs such as mental health, domestic abuse, learning difficulties, and substance misuse. We offer a unique service recruiting and training volunteers from all backgrounds who visit families in their own homes on a weekly basis for 3 -4 hours to offer emotional and practical support tailored to meet each family's individual needs. Volunteers work restoratively 'with' parent/s, using a strengths based approach, helping build confidence, resilience and coping skills to improve their well-being and family life. At Home-Start Leeds we believe that when parents are supported they grow in confidence, strengthen their relationships with their children and widen their links with the local community helping to build better lives for their children and themselves.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am cycling 150km in the Road World Championships in Harrogate for Home-Start Leeds. It is a charity close to my heart that helps parents give their children the best start possible. Home-Start provides information, support and guidance that ensures consistent and quality support for children and their families.
