For many years, I have been involved with charities which try to lessen the plight of the marginalised and homeless. Sadly, the situation has not improved much. A great friend and ardent supporter of people  who live  on the fringes of our society, once said,  "I hope that one day our job will become redundant and we shall no longer have to feed and care for the destitute. Sadly, that day has not come yet!  So please support me as I sleep rough for one night. The money raised will go to provide shelter, food, and care for those in desperate need.
