Story
I have known Bill Travers over 30 plus years of running, walking and socialising. Bill along with myself and many others have run in many events in the UK and abroad. One event was when we went run the 100th running of the Boston Marathon. A couple also arranged to get married at the same time and Bill gave the bride away.
He was a caring man who loved his family and would do anything for them and his friends.
After Bill stopped running, he took up walking going out 2-3 times a week and he did this for many years. Bill was also a HGV driver and continued this after retiring. He decided finally last year to give up his HGV driving.
Late in 2018 Bill suffered a series of strokes and was taken care of by the staff at the Acute Stroke Unit in Poole Hospital, sadly he never recovered from these stokes and passed away peacefully. He was well looked after in his final days and sadly missed by his wife Sandy, children, family and many friends.
I am running to remember Bill and raise much needed funds for the Stroke Unit at the hospital, to buy much needed equipment. Raising funds for the Stroke Unit to buy much needed equipment to help others will make all of us remember Bill
