Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As someone who does a sedentary job I am aware of the importance of movement, both for my physical and mental health. And while I am out and about during Book Week Scotland 2018 (thanks to Live Argyll for facilitating this) talking to fellow book-lovers, I thought I should re-connect with an old hobby of mine - swimming - to work on my cardio fitness. Swimming has amazing benefits for your body - it improves blood pressure, vascular function, it's joint-friendly, and is thought to increase your health span and your life span. Recent research indicates that swimmers have a 50% lower mortality rate than runners, walkers and non-exercisers. I want me some of that. The fitter I stay, the more books I get to write!

And while I'm improving my health, I thought, why not raise some well-needed cash for a charity who are doing AMAZING work in our community for survivors of childhood sexual abuse, and rape.

(Btw - just a mention and a massive thank you for the "action" shots to Mark Davey of the Campbeltown Courier)
