Story

Born in 1966 and the youngest of four, always meant I got that special treatment which I considered to be challenging at times! Hand-me-downs, youngest sibling jokes, and even being tied to a tree or two was common practice. Looking back now I am 50, these weren't real challenges at all.

In fact they were the very building blocks that have made me realise that you get out of life what you put in it! So as father of three, it's now my time to help others that find themselves in really challenging environments.

I have often heard people saying "you write your own chapters in life" so this is why I am starting a new one of my own today. Yes I may have climbed a mountain or two and have done the odd challenge, but I have never run properly, let alone do a marathon!

So I am going to make my own sacrifice by pounding the streets with my wife Melanie, for the next few months, day and night.

Right now, millions of children are in danger. They face violence, disease, hunger and the chaos of war. Unicef ensures more children get life-saving food, vaccinations, education and protection than anyone else. Today, children in places like Syria, South Sudan and Yemen are caught up in violent conflict, with millions forced to flee their homes.

Please donate what ever you can to help me raise my target to help those children that are not as privileged than us.
