This Marathon is going to be a huge challenge for me, the last one (London 2003) was difficult but being eight years older and ever so slightly heavier is going to take its toll!. I'd really appreciate everyone's support and the fact that I've not asked anyone for sponsorship money for such a long time must mean its time for people to dig deep and help this fantastic local charity.

 I've put a lot of time and effort picking Zoe's Place as my preferred charity this year and the reason I believe Zoe's Place deserves our money is they receive little government funding, therefore rely on the generosity of the public to help raise the £2.5 million a year they need to keep Zoë's Place open for the many families that need their expert care and support. Zoë’s Place has now been in operation for 16 years, caring for babies with life-limiting or life threatening conditions. Zoe's place is also very local to where we live and we see first hand what a fantastic job all the carers and staff do there.

 Please spread the words to family and friends who know me and tell them that this opportunity of sponsoring me over 26 gruelling miles only comes around once every eight years so please don't forget or delay as the 9th October isn't that far away and posting this message out on the eve of my 33nd birthday (19th September) doesn't leave me must time. I'd prefer donations to be made through JustGiving but if anyone wants to give me Cash/Cheques that's fine too, but please make the effort to get it to me.
