O’Leary 200 miles walk in Ireland · 1 October 2019

We are dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for young cancer patients aged 13-24. We fund and build specialist units in NHS hospitals and provide dedicated staff, bringing young people together so they can be treated by teenage cancer experts in the best place for them.

Story

We are doing this walk for Teenage Cancer Trust , a charity we have been involved with for many years . Most of you will know all about the charity , and have so kindly supported us in many ways .

TCT now reaches 80% of the the teenagers in the UK with cancer , this is absolutely incredible , but still a long way to go , it's a constant task to keep up , to ensure eventually every young person can have the specialist care and individual treatment to give them the best chance to beat this horrible disease , in the environment possible .

Two hundred miles walking , not too difficult . Sounds quite simple , but with the injuries I have incurred , really , a mammoth task .

Why Ireland , first I love Ireland , and it brings with it it's own additional challenges .  We are doing this walk from the 30th of September to the 10th of October , when Pascale will return to England and I will be joined by some friends and supporters of TCT for the completion of the walk . Why September , traditionally the wettest month in Ireland , first it will take two month's to build up to taking this on , secondly I have to have a serious operation on my foot , that will make it impossible to do after this .

Thanks to everyone for their continued support , which is so appreciated .
