There are so many worthy causes and the people who are raising money for charity normally have their own personal reasons for doing so, in my case I chose to support Youth Options  when my 20 year old son Ross was killed in a car crash on 1^st November 2008. Because of the great work they do with the young people of Hampshire, where I live and work, I felt that in some small way by supporting a charity that deals with not just the less fortunate, but youngsters from every aspect of our community, there was a relevance to Ross’ life. Ross was a fun loving 20 year old who enjoyed life and was fortunate enough to have experiences most young people will never have, by supporting Youth Options I am hoping that more young people will be able to have positive experiences.

 

So what am I going to do to separate you from your hard earned cash is these difficult times, well for those of you who know me, you will recognise that I am of what can sympathetically be called a comfortable build, middle age and far from fit. With this in mind I am going to run the New York Marathon on 1^st November 2009 with the objective of raising sufficient money to help Youth Options replace one of their minibuses which has recently gone beyond economical repair.
