Well the New York marathon in 2009 feels a long time ago now and having done absolutely nothing since I have managed to get so far out of shape that if I wear a belt I look like the number 8.

So to save me for the gastric band I have taken on another challenged with my trusty sidekick Sam Graham and fellow foolhardy adventurers Michael Thomsen, Ian Woolner, Chris Allcock and Arron Jepp, together we are going to ride from John O’Groats to Lands End. To make the things that little bit more challenging we are also going to do it nonstop in an attempt to beat the time set by the Sport Relief team a few years ago.

As most of you know when my son Ross was killed in 2008 I chose Youth Options as a charity http://www.youthoptions.co.uk/ they need our support more than ever to continue the fantastic work they do with the young people of Hampshire under the current economic pressure, so please give as generously as you can.
