On August 8th we are holding a charity football match to celebrate the life of our good friend Phil Blackmore. Phil passed away in 2016 due to a brain tumour but never let it define him once he was diagnosed. He accomplished many things but will go down in history for being a part of the AFC Balham invincibles in our record breaking title winning season. Phil, otherwise known as 'The Doc', played for the mighty AFC Balham for several years and also a local 5-a-side team with a few of the Balham lads. The current AFC Balham team will face off against the 'old boys' to see if the current crop can cut it against the old guard. All money raised will go the Brain Tumour Research.
