The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of people with sight loss never leave home alone. We empower visually impaired people to do that and rely on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service.

Story

Not long ago, I said goodbye to a friend and an incredible human, John O'Connell, who sadly died at only 38 years old after a brave year-long battle with leukemia. John was one of the most genuine, caring and warm-hearted people that I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. John was selfless in his endeavours, always putting others first and he is a true inspiration to us all. The world would be a brighter place if there were more people like John in it however his spirit lives on and he can continue to positively impact the world through the actions that we take.

John was a strong advocate of The Trussell Trust (a charity helping food banks) and Guide Dogs therefore I will be raising money for fantastic causes as John would have done.

To honour John's memory, I will be aiming to walk/jog/run/hobble 100 miles in 24 hours starting on the morning of Thursday 15th April and (hopefully) finishing a day later on Friday 16th April.

If you are interested in the route, it will be two 50 mile loops around the villages of Northamptonshire.
