I am lacing up my boxing gloves and stepping into the ring for a fantastic cause – Parkinson's UK! But this isn't just about me – it's a celebration of love, strength, and making a difference in honour of my incredible grandad, Tommie O'Brien!

My grandad was an absolute legend. He had charm, wit, and wisdom, he brought so much joy to our family. He lived life to the fullest, but, as life sometimes throws us curveballs, he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease.

In the face of this challenge, my grandad never let Parkinson's hold him back. Always the first to get up a ladder to clear the gutters, or go down to the local GAA pitch to check on things, never complaining, he taught us all the importance of resilience, and that's why I'm stepping into the boxing ring to fight alongside Parkinson's UK! They're doing an amazing job supporting people affected by this condition, providing crucial resources and funding ground breaking research to kick Parkinson's to the curb!
