Hello!
Thanks for taking the time out to visit this page.
After being told it would be a great idea and a good way to catch up
over the Summer by some friends at Uni, I have entered the Bath half
marathon, which takes place on September 6th.
Rather than simply
endure 13.1 miles of running induced discomfort for no reward (apart
from the plastic medal!) I decided not to waste the opportunity to
raise some money for National Rhumatoid Arthritis Society.
Although
raising for this charity might seem somewhat irrelevant, or not as
'glamorous' or heartfelt as other popular charities, many of you are
likely to be affected by arthritis at some point during life, whether
directly or not and my Mum was a long term sufferer before she sadly
died earlier this year.
NRAS is a charity which provides
support and information to people with rheumatoid arthritis and their
supporting loved ones, helping to reduce the impact of this often
debilitating disease on their quality of life.
I am aiming to
complete the run in 2 hours, a respectable time considering I’m used to
travelling much faster and further by bike and am no natural at running!
If you could
donate just a few pounds or more, it would mean a huge amount to me and I WILL
thank you personally!
Cheers,
Mike
