Story

Just to let you all know, we finished our Lejog @ 14:15 on Saturday 16th August 2008, we covered 962 miles in total, in some of the worst summer weather we have had for a long time!!

Many thanks to all of you who have sponsored me.

Hi its Mike here, thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.

I hope you like the picture of Dom, myself and Rob, we were getting ready to ride around Dubai autodrome for breast cancer research when we visited Rob in October 2007, hence the pink shirts!, Rosie the dog was looking on.

On Monday August 4th 2008 I will be starting an attempt to ride a tandem from Lands End to John O'Groats with my brother Rob (who lives in Dubai), also riding with us on another tandem will be Ness Jackson (also from Dubai) and Ian Maynard, we hope to complete the journey by the 16th of August.  We are riding for different charities.

Rob and I have chosen the shetlerbox trust as our charity. Ness is raising money for the Illam Rural Hospital in Nepal. This hospital provides medical services for 400,000 people who live in the Western region on the boarder with India. Although they now have the main building they are in desperate need of medical equipment for the hospital and are now looking for funds to build a maternity wing.  Ian is riding for a Rotary charity called Polio Plus, see http://www.rotary.org/en/ServiceAndFellowship/Polio/Pages/ridefault.aspx?housead  for further information.

You can follow our progress here http://2tandems.blogspot.com/

All your sponsorship to me will go to the Shelterbox charity, who provide emergency aid for victims of natural and other disasters anywhere in the world.  See www.shelterbox.org for more details.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Shelterbox Trust Limited will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support regards, Mike.
