An update on our trip and. We now have the dates and locations for our trip, we will be visiting 3 villages in Uganda; Tororo, Mbale and Iganga between the 21st Feb and the 8th March.

Sarah and I are raising money for Cricket without Boundaries, a charity that raises awarenes of HIV and AIDS in Africa. We are delighted to have been selected to take part in a two week project in Africa in spring 2013. We are looking to raise a combined total of £1500 (please note we are paying for our own flights, vaccinations etc) so all of your donations will go to the project itself.

The charity has three main goals which are:

1. To spread cricket through coaching children and teaching adults how to coach

2. To link the sport to HIV/AIDS awareness and incorporate these messages into coaching sessions

3. To bring together and empower local communities through cricket

Thanks for your support

We will be organising several fundraising events including a stall at Penistone's Mayors Parade on 10th June 2012. I will be holding a cricket stump challenge and we will be selling tickets for our duck race which is due to take place in early July 2012.

About the charity

Cricket Without Boundaries is dedicated to helping, educating and developing local communities around the world through the spread and growth of cricket. Crucially, CWB also uses cricket as a tool in the fight against AIDS. CWB’s training sessions have at their heart discussion about the disease in terms of prevention, treatment and equality of treatment for those with and without the disease.
