In Loving Memory of Michael Charles Turney

Hattie Turney is raising money for Open Age
In memory of Michael Turney
We’re Open Age, the charity empowering all older people in London to stay active, stay curious and stay connected. We’re creating an inclusive community for everyone to take part in enjoyable activities, supporting them to meet, move and learn.

Story

It is with great sadness we have to announce that Mike collapsed and died at home on Saturday 17th April 2021.

He loved, and was much loved by, his family and friends.

Active until the end, Open Age was a cause dear to his heart.

Even in lockdown, he enjoyed acting, writing and cooking and was very much looking forward to getting back to sailing small boats and hugging all his family, especially his five precious grandchildren.

If you would like to raise a glass to Mike and listen to some music, may we suggest:

Flamenco Sketches
from 'Kind of Blue' by Miles Davis

Epilogue from 'As You Like It' by Shaina Taub

Caprice in A minor, No. 24 by Paganini (Perlman)

Mrs Dalloway in the Garden from 'Woolf Works' by Max Richter

Symphony No 5 (Adagietto) by Mahler
