Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As many of you already know myself and friends are doing a 5k memorial fun run/walk on 10.06.2012 for Yorkhill Children's Hospital in Glasgow. Many of you will know that this 5k fun run will be difficult for me as I am so unfit and unhealthy so it might not be a lot but its a stomp for me!
The fun run/walk is in memory of Chloe McIntyre a gorgeous baby girl that sadly past away at just 6 weeks and 2 days old at Yorkhill Children’s Hospital due to a heart condition.
The aim of the fund is to build a sensory room within the new Yorkhill Hospital. The room will be named after Chloe and should be opened by 2015. The day itself will start with Chloe's 5k Fun Run / Walk which will start at Mclaren Leisure Centre Sports Fields at 11.30am. This will be followed by the fun day that will have lots to do including bouncy castle, trampolines, bungee runs, cake stands, raffles, BBQ, face & nail painting and lots lots more! This promises to be a fantastic family day and we would be so happy if you could be there to enjoy it with us and help raise as much money as we can in memory of Chloe.
Chloe Flora McIntyre sadly passed away on the 14th May 2008, she was born with a heart condition called Truncas Arteriosis and she spent a lot of time in Yorkhill Hospital in particular in the Cardiac Ward 5a and the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Chloe underwent successful open heart surgery at 4 weeks old but due to certain complications was placed on an ECMO (life support) machine after the surgery. She fought hard for the next two weeks through lots of ups and downs and managed to get off the machine on the afternoon of the 14th May. Unfortunately the McIntyre Family’s excitement was short lived as, a nurse told them that Chloe had to be resuscitated! At such a young age Chloe was taken from her family.
I am hoping to raise as much money as possible to go towards making a difference in helping more babies like Chloe and would be very grateful for your donations.
