Story
I'VE DONE IT!!!!
What a fantastic day!! Crowds were amazing, if not too loud in places, and the sun was shining. Got soooo hot, that any idea of a 'time' went out of the window - but still over the moon with a finish time of 4h27m41s
I'm in one piece, no injuries, no medical attention required, just a bit sore and stiff.
*UPDATE* - I've now successfully completed my two 'warm-up' races, being Silverstone Half Marathon (1h54m43s) and Oakley 20 mile (3h13m38s), and my longest training run of 22miles....and only 3 weeks to the Big Day now!!!!
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Although i've been running for 5 years now, this will my first attempt at a Marathon!! I was lucky to get a ballot place for Virgin London Marathon 2011, and have decided to use this place to raise money for Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance.
If you are in an accident, there is an increased chance of survival if you reach a specialist trauma centre within the first 60 minutes, known as the Golden Hour.
The Air Ambulance can be airborne in 45 seconds and reach anywhere in Northamptonshire within 15 minutes.
It costs £1.4million a year to operate this service, and are supported entirely through local public donations.
Even if you don't live in the area, the chances are that you will have used the M1 or M40 which pass through their area.
So please give generously!!
During the course of my training for the marathon, i shall also be completing the Silverstone Half Marathon, and the Oakley 20mile. So just think, you are in effect sponsoring me for 3 races!!
