Story
I sustained a stress fracture to the hip in January and have only been given the all clear to get back to running (16.06) and so I am under no illusion that this 'run' is going to be quick or pretty but I still want to play my part in raising money for the new Orthopaedic Centre at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.
The NNUH NHS Foundation Trust is planning to create the Norfolk & Norwich Orthopaedic Centre (NANOC) and will be a Centre of Clinical Excellence with the latest surgical and technological advancements for patients who need elective surgery in ankle, foot, hip, knee or shoulder operations, By creating this specialist centre for the people of Norfolk we are aiming to use the latest technologies and techniques to reduce pain and to get patients back to fitness in the shortest and safest way possible. This £11.4million centre will be built with a £9.4m from the NHS with the N&N Hospitals Charity committed to providing £2m of funding to ensure provision of the latest medical equipment required for this state of the art facility. This would be the largest grant ever provided by your local NHS charity, and will provide benefits for the local community for many years to come. This bespoke centre will provide 2 dedicated theatres and a 21 bed ward for orthopaedic elective surgery patients.
