Barry Jubb is raising money for The Rowans Hospice
In memory of Michelle Jubb
Rowans Hospice provides end of life care across South East Hampshire. We help improve quality of life for the patient around the clock. We receive a very small level of Government support and almost all of the money required to provide our services needs to be raised through voluntary giving.

Michelle Jubb (21/06/1965-09/05/2021)
On the morning of 9th May 2021, at 9am, my mum passed away peacefully at home with Barry, Beth and myself. She was in no pain and had been made comfortable by the amazing home team at Rowan’s hospice. Mum would have been the first person to tell you her disease was a bitch but she was always adamant that she did not want to be defined by it, never once did she ask ‘Why me?’ which is a testament to her character. My mum was an amazing, selfless, beautiful woman with a heart that extended to anyone and everyone. Her strong personality and her safe aura were known the world over and she touched so many people in ways I truly cannot comprehend. She was a friend, a co-worker, an aunt, a mother, a mimo, a sister and a wife. I implore you to remember her as she was in life - a force to be reckoned with.
Have a drink on her tonight, we know we will be.
Thank you for all of your friendship and support that you gave her in life.
Alia.

Message from our Co-Founder and Chief, Neil Pearce:
It is with great sadness that we have to announce the loss of our indomitable fundraiser and friend Michelle Jubb (Formerly Moorehouse), who we lost after an 11 year campaign against metastatic colon cancer.
Over the years it has been my privilege and pleasure to meet and help many extraordinary people, who have provided me and the PLANETS team with the inspiration to push the boundaries and try harder in our collective fight against cancer. However there have been very few who have made such an impression on me as Michelle. She was a woman with a big personality, some radical choices of hair colour and an unstoppable thirst for life. When I first met her she also had quite a big liver, although most of that went in the bucket a few weeks later! She knew that her disease was borderline operable at best, but she had struggled with chemotherapy and this was her only chance, so together we rolled the dice and rolled a few sixes...
Michelle had a highflying career and knew how to enjoy life as well. She put her heart, body and soul into everything she did and became one of our most inspirational fundraisers, never giving up, whatever the disease threw at her. She and her husband Barry had a thirst for globetrotting adventure and made the most of every moment they had together, working as a true team, facing up to every challenge that life sent their way. Michelle made a similar impression on us all and led a life full of laughter, bringing warmth and happiness to everybody she met. Always irreverent, always optimistic, one of life’s true characters.
I invite you all to celebrate her life and spirit, whether you knew her or not, next time you open a bottle of wine, raise a glass of thanks to our friend and fundraiser Michelle. Or even better dye your hair pink and book yourself a holiday!
