January 8th 2014 is when Callum, Sally's first born son and Michelle's Nephew was struck down with Meningitis, he was just 9 months old. No one can ever prepare you for the fear you feel at hearing the words "I'm sorry but it's really serious" 10 days in intensive care not knowing what each day would throw at us and if our Callum would survive. Callum lost his hearing through meningitis but we count ourselves as the lucky ones that he still has all his limbs and is here with us at all! He doesn't let anything stand in his way and starts school in September, so the least we can do is haul ourselves through mud, electric shocks and tough obstacles to raise money for Meningitis Now who helped our family so much after the illness and campaigned so successfully for the Men B vaccine which now protects our boys.
