At Young Lives vs Cancer, we help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. But every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. We’ll face it all together – but we can’t do it without you. Visit www.younglivesvscancer.org.uk

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My daughter Evie was diagnosed with DIPG on 3rd April 2012. This is a devastating brain tumour with 0% survival. Typical prognosis is 9-12 mths. Evie got 9 mths 22 days all of which fought with a such a bravery that Evie will forever remain my hero and inspiration.

Children are slowly robbed of all their abilities which in itself is heartbreaking to watch but knowing they are fully aware of their decline is unbearable. Its every mothers wish to be able to help their child overcome anything but knowing all you can do is be there for them is very tough.

When your child is diagnosed with cancer you are assigned your own Clic Sargent social worker. The help these people offer is amazing and  not only are they a great support ours became a good friend. Knowing we would never ask for help she took it upon herself just to do things for us. This is why I am running this 10K , to try raise money and give something back.

This year the 10k happens to fall on Evie's 5th birthday, her first as an angel. This makes it all the more special to me and probably if i am honest extremly tough if the race for life was anything to go by!

So please if you can donate to this excellent cause
